dA ads are getting worse and worse

Sun May 31, 2009, 5:14 PM
Has anyone else gotten a virus off dA?

Yesterday my computer was infected by a virus, most likely from one of the dA ads (it's the only site I was browsing). It was some sort of redirector trying to sucker the victim into getting "perfect defender" anti-virus (which is a scam, don't bother looking it up). How ironic. This is a 5 year old windows installation that has never had a single virus on it so it's unlikely I installed it myself.

And then it just happened again a few minutes ago: I logout of my dA account and get redirected to some moronic fake computer scan page trying to make me believe my computer is infected. Which it isn't (well not anymore).

It seems like dA is using some rather unreliable ad providers :( I'm not really surprised (they're clearly all about the $$) but I am getting pissed.

Firefox! That helps prevent the ads from me... I have some addon I think that keeps them from popping up. Same with LiveJournal.

Or you can also subscribe :(

Dr. Cameron: And?
Dr. House: I didn't know it was possible for a woman to be unusually irritable.

Ugh that's happened to me before. That's one of the reasons why I left deviantART.
